The text is easy enough to follow along with in my limited examination, should be a fun way to get the story. It isn't bad at any rate and appears to follow Meyer's description better than the movie did. The artwork by Young Kim is like some used in the Twilight Illustrated companion, some think it looks Asian, I think it suggests "Barbie doll" to me. I guess we're supposed to go and buy the parts separately then go back and buy the combined edition- don't think I'll ever do that.Īt 464 pages the graphic novel version of Twilight is, I think, 34 pages shorter than Stephenie Meyer's original novel- taking out the descriptive text must account for most of that. And that of the rest of the world.) (Which was an ongoing conversation between my colleague and me as we watched the movie together with 200 7th graders.) For the most part, I’m pleased – but neither the movie nor comic have capture Charlie for me. It made me think a lot about whether or not I had visualized the characters in the same way. I was glad that Kim chose to create her own renderings of the characters – using her own vision of the story– rather than trying to redraw the a ctors from the movie. ![]()
